In building this season’s spring collection I wanted to veer away from the stark palettes and hardware so common in mainstream fashion and take things to a sweeter place, a world where a girl can embrace the joy of being feminine. I took my cue from 1950s America, a time of grace, whimsy and girlishness. Her wardrobe is bubbling with dandelion prints and picnic-ready plaids, mixed and matched with vibrant solids and finished with a zest and ease that is all her own. The Jenny Han girl doesn’t prowl, she floats and with this unapologetically feminine ease comes her tantalizing charm. Not only does the world admire her wardrobe, they want to be a part of her world too.
With a lighthearted flick, gone are the hard-edged looks of seasons past, replaced by a freshness that only a new year can bring. Out with the old and in with a fresh breath of sweetness, femininity, imagination and an entirely new kind of sex appeal. Like a cheeky wink, it leaves something to the imagination.
